Transfiguration - August 6, 2026

On August 6, Fr. Aleksey celebrated the Transfiguration of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

You were transfigured in glory on Mount Tabor, O Christ God,

showing to Your Disciples the glory of Your Divinity.

Enlighten us also with the light of Your knowledge

and guide us in the path of Your commandments,

for You alone are good and the Lover of man!

Fr. Aleksey, wearing white vestments and facing the congregation, reads from the holy bible as he stands in the doorway of the Royal Doors.

Fr. Aleksey, wearing white vestments and facing the iconostas and with his back mostly to the camera, reads from a prayer book. He's standing in front of a table covered with a white tablecloth and baskets of fruit. The table is located in front of the pews on the right-hand-side of the church, and several parishoners are seated in the pews, which fill out the bottom third of the photo.

Fr. Aleksey blesses baskets of fruit on a folding table that has a white tablecloth. He's standing at center-left in the frame, with the fruit filling most of the bottom of the photo. Part of a pew appears in the lower left-hand corner, and the iconostas fills most of the photo's background.

Anyone photo of Fr. Aleksey blessing the fruit. Time fills most of the left-hand-side of the photo, and he's holding a holy water vessel in his left hand and dipping a brush into the water. The fruit table appears in front of him, running diagonally across the bottom-left-corner of the frame, with the center table along the left-hand-side, and the iconostas in the background.

The photo's perspective is from the right-front corner of the church, looking back on the pews. Fr. Aleksey is walking up the center aisle, towards the altar and left side of the frame. Parishoners are standing in the pews, and the table with fruit fills the bottom third of the frame. There's also a prayer book on the table with the fruit.
